John Hansen

John Hansen is Vice President, Enterprise Risk Management for Sprouts Farmers Market, a natural grocer headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. At Sprouts, he is responsible for enterprise risk management, food safety, regulatory compliance, employee safety, insurance, claims and loss prevention.

Prior to assuming his position at Sprouts John was a managing director of Marsh for 28 years in a variety of technical, management and account executive positions. He started in the industry with Wausau Insurance as a Casualty underwriter and also was an analyst in the risk management department of Northwest Industries. In addition to his risk management responsibilities, John serves on the Risk & Insurance Management Society External Affairs Committee and the Loss Prevention, Safety and Risk Management Committee of the California Grocers Association.

A native of Chicago, John holds a B.A. degree from the University of Illinois and an M.B.A. from DePaul University.
